Dedicated to Your Smile
Robert Kelley is a periodontist and resident of St. Augustine, Florida. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Robert was born and raised in the area, where most of his family still resides. His interest in dentistry began early, influenced by his grandfather and three uncles, all active dentists in the Tampa Bay and surrounding communities. It was during his high school years that Robert began to seriously consider dentistry as a career. He spent significant time shadowing various dentists across numerous specialties during school breaks, with a particular interest in periodontics after shadowing his uncle, a fellow periodontist, perform Guided Bone Regeneration.Robert received his Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida and was accepted into Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in 2017. He graduated from dental school in 2021 and began his periodontic residency at Nova Southeastern University the same year. His research during this time focused on placing implants with simultaneous bone regeneration. Residency equipped Robert with the surgical skills to perform immediate implants, implants in the esthetic zone, ridge and sinus augmentations, soft tissue grafting, periodontal surgery, canine exposures, periodontal regeneration, and IV sedation.
During his third year of residency, Robert had the honor of meeting Dr. John Thousand at the Florida Association of Periodontists Conference. Dr. Thousand later invited him to visit his practice, where they discovered a shared philosophy in patient care and treatment. Shortly thereafter, Robert had the privilege of joining Dental Specialists of North Florida.
